01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Up the stairs to floor 2 of a building in Komagome, beyond a quiet door, lies signe—a compact café worth seeking out for its vividly fruit-accented desserts and thoughtfully prepared drinks. Finished in white and soft, muted tones, the room holds only a limited number of seats, preserving a gentle, tranquil atmosphere where you can focus on the plate before you under soft lighting.
Layered Fruit Panna Cotta and Rich Baked Sweets
Among the sweets that shift with the seasons, the panna cotta in particular has built a dedicated following. Set beneath seasonal strawberries, jellies, and ice cream, the gentle richness of smooth milk base offers a pleasant interplay of textures and bright acidity that keeps every spoonful engaging to the end. The thick baked cheesecake is similarly moist and dense, gaining an elegant depth when paired with fruit compotes and seasonal toppings. At times, the menu features dessert plates combining 2 different treats, offering an indulgent tasting option whenever it is hard to settle on just one.
Fragrant Japanese Black Teas and Brews for the Table
Another appealing aspect of the café is its well-curated tea selection, designed to complement the sweets. Alongside Japanese black tea from Ureshino and decaffeinated alternatives, the lineup includes domestically produced flavored teas infused with scents like white peach or roasted sweet chestnut, as well as refreshing herbal infusions, allowing guests to match their drink to the day's mood. Classic coffee options such as café lattes and Americanos are also on hand, poured into charming cups that gently round out the dessert experience.
Many guests visit either solo or in pairs of up to 2 to unwind in peace. Because time limits may be introduced during busy periods, arriving with plenty of time to spare is best.
